Disclosure
VPNdrift exists to help you pick a VPN that actually fits how you use the internet, not to push whichever provider pays the most. This page explains how the site makes money, how that money affects (and doesn’t affect) what we publish, and what to do if you spot something wrong.
How This Site Makes Money
VPNdrift is supported by affiliate commissions. Some links on this site, including the “Visit” buttons on review pages and the links in our comparison tables, are affiliate links. If you sign up for a VPN through one of them, the provider pays us a commission. You don’t pay anything extra, and your price is the same as if you’d gone directly to the provider’s site.
This is the only way the site makes money right now. We don’t run banner ads, and we don’t charge providers for placement, a slot in a “best of” list, or a specific score.
Editorial Independence
Affiliate relationships don’t decide which VPNs we review, what score they get, or what we say about their weaknesses. A provider offering a higher commission is not ranked higher because of it, and a provider we have no affiliate deal with is reviewed the same way as one we do.
If a VPN has a real problem, such as a weak no-logs claim, a slow server in a key region, or a confusing refund process, we say so, even if that VPN pays us well when readers sign up through our link.
Where we haven’t verified something ourselves, such as a third-party audit or a court case a provider cites, we say that plainly and link to the original source instead of repeating the provider’s marketing copy as fact. You can read more about how we actually test and score providers on our methodology page.
Affiliate Partners
We currently have affiliate relationships with several of the VPN providers covered on this site, and we’re upfront about that on the pages where it applies. Not every VPN we mention has an affiliate deal with us, and providers with no such deal are still included in reviews, comparisons, and “best VPN for” lists when they earn their place there.
Corrections
VPN providers change their features, pricing, and policies often, and we sometimes miss an update. If something on this site is out of date or inaccurate, tell us through the contact page and we’ll look into it and correct it.
